Selectif views businesses as partnerships between employer and employee - but like any marriage, if the two parties are mismatched at the outset (recruitment stage), then the relationship is destined for ongoing challenges during the whole journey! Selectif aims to help employers and potential employees make sound assessment and selection decisions to prevent employment tribunal traps and enhance opportunities.
Selectif's director, Manjula, has gained Human Resources (HR) experience of working with a range of organisations in assessing and selecting candidates and developing employees in a variety of organisations e.g. Dow Corning Ltd, Bank of Ireland, Birmingham and Cardiff City Councils. Her public sector experience also includes participating as an independent or lay interviewer within the judicial and public appointment processes. Selectif uses the services of a team of tried-and-tested associates for larger projects but Manjula's MSc in Entrepreneurship allows her to relate equally well with smaller and start-up businesses.
Manjula is a graduate in Applied Psychology from Cardiff University, who maintains her links with the Careers Service (delivering employability programmes to schools) and HR students through her professional advisor role within the South East Wales branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) (http://www.cipd.co.uk/branch/sewales). She leads The Branch mentoring scheme in a voluntary capacity and is also an ILM qualified executive coach.
As a fellow of the CIPD, and member of the British Psychological Society and the Association of Business Psychologists, she is bound by the standards of conduct and ethics of these professional bodies.
